Co-founder and CEO
Mr. Hoffmann is entirely dedicated to Network Immunology's systems approach to treating disease and optimizing health. Realizing the immense untapped value in the network approach to understanding immuno-regulation, Hoffmann co-founded Network Immunology with Chief Scientist, Dr. Geoffrey W. Hoffmann in 2003. In 2007, Hoffmann was appointed Manager of Business Development. In 2009, at a key juncture in the Company’s history, he was appointed President and CEO. Since then he has been a major driver behind the Company's development and expansion.
Dr. Hoffmann obtained his PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) in 1972 from the Technische Universität Braunschweig as a student of Professor Manfred Eigen for research done at the Max Planck Institut für Biophysikalische Chemie in Göttingen, Germany. He began his research on immune network theory in 1974 at that Institute.
Dr. Gorczynski works with Dr. Geoffrey Hoffmann on the development of AbstimX™. As both an MD and PhD, Dr. Gorczynski brings an extensive understanding of medicine, from laboratory research, discovery and development, through to patient administration. Dr. Gorczynski was professor in the Department of Surgery at the Toronto Hospital, University Health Network, as well as professor in the Department of Immunology at the University of Toronto. His primary interests and expertise are in adaptive immunity, the regulation of tumor growth/metastasis and the regulation of transplant rejection.
Mr. Lara is the CEO of a clinical trials company. He has also served in the Mexican government as Deputy Director of Mexican Official Standards at the Ministry of Health, Director of Educational Programs, Director of Entailment and Institutional Development, and as the Coordinator of Ethical, Legal and Social Issues Research at the Center of Genomic Medicine. He has been involved in the development of health care innovation models, intellectual property and business incubators related to genomic medicine. He has produced a number of publications related to ethical, social and legal issues of the human genome. Mr. Lara serves as Counsel to the Secretary of Health for the Mexican Health Ministry.
